On May 1st, 2022, we will be going back to a LIVE event! We will be walking in memory of our beloved dogs that we have lost to cancer, to raise funds for the Smiling Blue Skies Cancer Fund at OVC. Join us at North Glenmore Park, Calgary, Alberta in person or join us virtually.
Last year, 2021, was certainly a year to be proud of, for our Smiling Blue Skies Warriors! We didn’t let a pesky pandemic keep us down! We went well above our hopes and dreams and raised an incredible $38,608.55 through online and direct donations and an amazing online raffle! 100% of this was sent to OVC Pet Trust at the University of Guelph for the study of new cancer diagnostics and treatments for all companion animals through Pet Trust at the Ontario Veterinary College. Since 2010, our small Calgary walk has raised an astounding $306,070.04 for The Smiling Blue Skies Cancer Fund!
Cancer is the most frequent cause of death in dogs. This is a truly frightening thought. It is a burden that we all share. In loving our dogs, we want the very best for them, in health, and in sickness. Every dollar donated to The Smiling Blue Skies Cancer Fund supports OVC’s quest to find more and better ways to deal with and understand this terrible disease. Funds will be used for the study of new cancer diagnostics and treatments for all companion animals through Pet Trust at the Ontario Veterinary College. Not only will our pets benefit from this contribution, but also the knowledge gained will be shared with human research, for the good of us all.
Receipts for tax credit purposes, are issued for all contributions of $20 or more to OVC’s programs, under the University of Guelph’s charitable status number.
