give you this one to keep . . .
I am with you still . . . I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone . . .
I am with you still . . . in each new dawn.
In Loving Memory of a Very Grand Man, David Ivor Campbell
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Ivor Campbell, after a brief battle with cancer. Dave passed away peacefully on February 11, 2013, surrounded by his family. He leaves his loving wife of 40 years, Kathy, sons Chris (Sarah) and John (Sara), grandchildren Cole and Natalie, his sister Gwen Snider (Dave), and his mother Rhoda Campbell. He was predeceased by his father John in 1992. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Dorene Davies, brothers-in-law Bill Davies (Marian), Jack Davies (Marilyn), nephew Roy and niece Kathryn, and her boys, Will and Matt; as well as many cousins and friends.
Dave was born October 9, 1952 and has lived his entire life in Victoria. He served in the armed forces, 3rd Battalion PPCLI, worked in the telecommunications field, and for the past 25 years, worked for the provincial government; most recently as the Director, IT Security Operations.
Dave was a passionate golfer and was a member of the Uplands Golf Club, where he was serving a term as Club Director. In Loving Memory of "Frisket"
Jeff Chow and his wife travelled from Edmonton to Calgary to participate in the Smiling Blue Skies Walk this year. Their Lab, Frisket, fought a courageous battle with cancer during the last two years of his life. He lost a kidney to lymphoma in 2010, and a early on in 2012, he lost a leg to a sarcoma. He lost his battle with cancer in August, 2012. This video is a beautiful tribute to Frisket, and the last part of the video is a celebration of his life one week before he went to "The Bridge."
