The Golden Retriever Club of Quebec (GRCQ) has the honour of hosting the Golden Retriever Club of Canada’s (GRCC) National Specialty in the summer of 2007. This event brings together breeders, competitors and fanciers for several days of fun and activities. The GRCC has been encouraging the hosting clubs to hold an education seminar at each of these Specialties but to date none of the hosting clubs have been able to afford the added costs. I am writing to you today with hope that you would be interested in joining the Secours Golden Retriever Rescue Quebec (SGRRQ) in helping to sponsor an education seminar in 2007. The topic is of interest to everyone-- Golden Retriever owners or not….”Canine Cancer”. We have been in contact with canine oncologist Dr. Marilyn Dunn DMV, MVSc, Dipl. ACVIM from the University of Montreal who is very willing to give the seminar, and she is fluent in both languages so will be able to clarify confusing points. There are many costs associated with a National Specialty and the GRCQ will be unable to take on any added financial burden but getting information out to people who work and live with their dogs is extremely important. Any profits that might be made on this venture will be donated directly to the The Smiling Blue Skies Cancer Fund which is the **only** fund of its kind in Canada. A tax receipt will be issued for donation deductions. We look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Aileen Murray
